Sigh: D.C. Council poised to chase off 900 jobs because they don’t like Wal-Mart, so there
The old contra-argument used to be that Wal-Mart would chase away the "Mom and Pop" stores. Now that those have been eradicated by the poor economy and the onerousl small business regulations and taxes, the argument is that they don't pay enough.
Only to an American politician, held in the grimy paw of a union, would $0.00 per hour be more worthwhile than $8.25.
