Expect To See A Lot Of Congressional Investigations Into The NFL And Its Team Owners

On Friday, the NFL indicated that the league had no desire to help the Obama administration sell and implement Obamacare this fall.

More On The Morons

Government officials are awfully concerned about how we mere private citizens manage our firearms. Connecticut recently tightened already stringent rules about gun storage, and politicians are full of ideas about trigger locks, documentation, and who can touch your guns and for how long without committing a felony. But when it comes to keeping track of their own things-that-go-bang, jut how do government officials stack up? Pretty goddamned piss poor, it turns out.

The Class Snobbery Of Bike Lanes

Bikes passionately divide New Yorkers in ways that more commonplace national social issues like guns and abortion fail to do. Most social issues are really a form of class identification. When Obama sneered about poor Pennsylvania whites bitterly clinging to their guns and bibles at a San Fran fundraiser, he was really talking about class.

I'm Sorry, But There Is Something Terribly Wrong With These People

You know, as in more than corrupt.  Something much more akin to the traditional [that is, not Hollywood's] definition of evil.

First thing in the morning, Gregory Roseman, Deputy Director of Acquisitions (whatever that means), became the second IRS official to take the Fifth Amendment, after he was questioned about awarding the largest contract in IRS history, totaling some half a billion dollars, to his close friend Braulio Castillo, who qualified under a federal “set aside” program favoring disadvantaged groups — in this case, disabled veterans. For the purposes of federal contracting, Mr. Castillo is a “disabled veteran” because he twisted his ankle during a football game at the U.S. Military Academy prep school 27 years ago. How he overcame this crippling disability to win a half-billion-dollar IRS contract is the heartwarming stuff of an inspiring Lifetime TV movie.

"Instead, he struck down the Defense of Marriage Act on the grounds that those responsible for it were motivated by an “improper animus” against a “politically unpopular group” they wished to “disparage,” “demean,” and “humiliate” as “unworthy.” What stump-toothed knuckle-dragging inbred swamp-dwellers from which hellish Bible Belt redoubt would do such a thing? Well, fortunately, we have their names on the record: The DOMA legislators who were driven by their need to “harm” gay people include notorious homophobe Democrats Chuck Schumer, Pat Leahy, Harry Reid, Joe Biden, and the virulent anti-gay hater who signed it into law, Bill Clinton."

Relax, Let The Professionals Handle The Guns.

A group of state Alcoholic Beverage Control agents clad in plainclothes approached her, suspecting the blue carton of LaCroix sparkling water to be a 12-pack of beer. Police say one of the agents jumped on the hood of her car. She says one drew a gun. Unsure of who they were, Daly tried to flee the darkened parking lot.

Don't worry, citizen.  Law enforcement will protect you from wild co-eds purchasing...bottled water and cookie dough?

Really, even if she had bought beer illegally, is that really when you pull a gun on someone?

Baldwin Launches Homophobic Twitter Rant

Home Of The Brave, Cont.

People say America is a free country. But what if you want to drink, have a cigarette or make a bet? Government often says “no” to protect us from ourselves.

Boys Do Read, Just Not Like Girls

No, quite the contrary. Boys don’t read, on the whole, about sparkly vampires or angsty teen problems. They want stories that speak to them. Adventure and fun and characters they can identify with. (Sound familiar?) So they turn to other options, manga being just one of them. But the publishing powers that be fail to recognize that fact.

Okay, It Has Passed. Now, Let's See What's In It.

IMMIGRATION BILL RIDDLED WITH PORK

The "Hacker" Who Never Hacked

Obama dismissed Snowden as a “29-year-old hacker” during a press conference in Senegal and said the damage was done when Snowden leaked information about the National Security Agency's data-mining programs to the press.

He wasn't a "hacker", as he didn't have to hack into US security information.  He was a US govt contractor who had presumably passed security tests and was given complete access to secret files.  He has reported on US hacking, however, so maybe that's what has the prez confused.
